Notes From The Bar

What makes for a well designed bar?  Pretty? Sure.  Maximizes seating while keeping the guest comfortable? Great.  Designed to give the user a great experience? Yes.  But who is the user of a bar?  Problematically, most bars are designed with the user of the bar being the guest.  Gabrielle Maser, provides a unique perspective as she is both Beverage Director at the Pacific Club and Owner of the Interior Design Firm G Design.​

It’s always disappointing when you read in a National publications about a product that sounds awesome but then find out it’s not available in Hawaii. "Product Spotlight” has a goal of changing that. The column only features product within a category that’s available for sale within the state of Hawaii and personally revieviewed by the Hawaii Beverage Guide Team.

Wine Decanted

Jenni Burgess is both a Wine & Spirits Education Trust (WSET) Level 3 Award in Wines and a former Business consultant at Deloitte.  In this column she will explore a grape, place or wine trend each month, ranging from the niche and new, such as sparkling wines from England, to the traditional and venerated. We will lend time to the rare, venture of the beaten trails, take in stories, and explore the lesser known world of wine.
