Inspiration
“Stella Artois is elevating relaxing, warm weather drinking occasions and delivering sunshine in Stella Artois Solstice Lager—a sophisticated, delicious alternative to the usual seasonal brew options. Inspired by the longest and sunniest day of the year, Stella Artois Solstice Lager is the brand's first-ever limited-edition golden lager brewed especially for savoring under the summer sun.”
Beer Style: Golden Lager
• ABV: 4.5%
• IBU: 4
• 105 calories per bottle.

Ingredients
• Malts: 100% Malted barley
Based upon the golden hue of the beer, we believe the malt is
kilned to 2°Lovibond to 3°Lovibond. This would make the malt either a pilsner or pale malt.
• Hops: Hop Essence of Citra
(aromas of grapefruit, melon, lime, gooseberry, passionfruit)
and Amarillo (aromas of grapefruit, melon, orange, lemon, apricot, peach).
• Yeast: Proprietary
• Additional flavors: None.
Though some press releases say “citrus essence,” we believe that, given how the
product tastes, citrus oil is not used, and the citrus essence is from the hops.

Production Process
The beer is triple filtered, through a proprietary process. Given the clarity of the beer, and the light
aroma and flavor, we believe triple filtered means particulate filtration, fining agents, and chill filtering.

Tasting Notes and Perspective
Aroma:
Slightly malty with hints of banana and grapefruit.
Taste:
Light on the palate and effervescent, the light malt sweetness opens into the light hop
aromas of grapefruit pith and orange zest, then quickly dissipates. Though Citra (15% Alpha acids)
and Amarrillo (11% Alpha acids) are considered bittering hops and are common in American
IPA styles of 55-70 IBU, this is a lightly hopped beer at 4 IBU. For reference, Stella Artois is made
with Saaz hops (4.5% Alpha acids) and is more bitter at 20 IBU.
Summary:
Stella Artois Solstice Lager is similar to Stella Artois in malt profile, but with a lighter, slightly citrus hop profile instead of Saaz’s earthy, herbal hops. This flavor profile, coupled with a 4.5% ABV
(which is lower than that of Stella) makes it easy-drinking, warm weather beer.
